[Recap] Our First ‘Coffee with Creators’ Event

Made possible by our friends at .Store

Hannah here 👋. This past weekend, we gathered a close group of 50 creators for coffee in Venice, CA, to get inspired and learn more about how to grow our businesses as creators—and the importance of not doing so alone.

In what felt like an IRL creator support video, Colin and Samir answered questions, with highlights including:

  • How to build a business that extends beyond your name and likeness (more on this below).

  • The importance of having a recurring content type (like interview show or cooking tutorials) to drive your channel.

  • Why it’s important to be a good partner to platforms and consider their requests, when building content on their site.

  • How to maintain healthy relationships with a creative partner.

We spent part of the time doing a lofi Creator Support.

Creators represented the travel, entertainment, law, and finance niches.

There was reflecting on creativity and fulfillment, IG handles were swapped, and everyone walked away caffeinated and inspired to continue pressing publish. Some even got the push they needed to launch that merch line they’ve been thinking up.

A huge thank you to our partner .Store—who helped us bring this longtime event idea to life.

A lot of our conversation was around how creators need to maintain ownership of their brand and their independence—and .Store Domains enables just that. Through their program built exclusively for creators, Creators.Store helps you enrich your online merch brand name and ditch the lengthy unmemorable URLs for a clean and simple store name. Like Samir said at the event, “Your domain is part of your branding. You say it aloud in your videos, it goes on screen—give it the attention it deserves.

Both industry reps and creators got to connect and share what they’re working on.
