Good morning. Netflix, Paramount, and Sony Pictures are all reportedly in talks to buy movie review platform Letterboxd.

We won’t even have to check the news for who wins the bidβ€”we’ll just see which movies are performing suspiciously well on the app.

Today’s lineup:

  1. Good Good and Dude Perfect enter a multi platform partnership

  2. One Emmy voter’s take on Kareem Rahma

  3. Meta introduces its first AI image generator

Inside Good Good’s Partnership with Dude Perfect

Trick shots, meet tee shots: sports creators Dude Perfect and Good Good are entering a formal partnership across merchandise, content, and live events.

Context: Both companies are maturing creator businesses. Good Good raised $45M last year, expanding into global merchandise markets, and Dude Perfect raised $100M two years ago, hiring a CEO and expanding into new verticals like outdoors and gaming.

Why partner up? Because each has an audience and revenue stream the other wants.

  • β€œThere’s a cap” on how many people will watch golf on YouTube, Good Good director of marketing Jeffrey Lefkovits told us. β€œIf we’re gonna grow the brand, we have to grow outside of our core community.”

  • With the partnership Good Good is able to tap into DP’s massive kids audience. DP gets royalties, access to Good Good’s retail network, and fan base, which ranges from 25-34.

What makes them stronger together: β€œUs and Dude Perfect have a really good story to tell as brands together. We’re both content-driven, family-friendly, sports alternative brands, developed on modern platforms,” Lefkovits said.

Good Good is licensing Dude Perfect's brand for a line of adult and kids hats. In exchange, DP will receive royalties. Good Good golfers will also appear on DP's 22-stop Squad Games arena tour.

  • The kids hat is Good Good's first-ever youth product, β€œa great way for us to start our youth product development," Lefkovits said.

  • Apparel remains Good Good's biggest businessβ€”in the last year it’s increased from roughly 800 retail doors to about 4,000, including every Target in the US.

What's next: Good Good is gearing up for its PGA Tour event in November. Lefkovits said Good Good and Dude Perfect will continue to work toward content, event, and product collaborations to support each other's endeavors, but nothing is yet concrete.

What Emmy Voters Think of Creators

Television Academy member Marlon De Silva (left) shares his voting process following Subway Takes’ first Primetime Emmy nomination / Marlon De Silva, Subway Takes

This week, Kareem Rahma’s Subway Takes earned its first Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Short-Form Comedy, Drama, or Variety Series.Β

But do Emmy voters 100% agree that creators are the future of primetime content? We chatted with Television Academy member Marlon De Silva about what factors into his voting process β†’

β€œBeing an academy voter, you're voicing what defines television today, what defines entertainment, what defines impact,” De Silva told us. He said shows like Subway Takes are actively defining culture, and this nomination is a step toward more collaboration between traditional TV and creators.

β€œI think it opens the door to give other creators a chance to be discovered and seen,” De Silva said.

Behind the scenes: This year, multiple creators including Michelle Khare, Brittany Broski, and Julian Shapiro-Barnum ran For Your Consideration (FYC) campaigns ahead of the Emmys. Rahma was the only creator to be nominated in any category, but other creators still see it as a win for the collective.

β€œThis means even more creators are going to get bigger and better opportunities,” Khare said on Instagram.

Meta Rolls Out AI Images

Meta introduces the Muse Image, its first-ever image generator / Meta

Earlier this week, Meta released its first ever AI image generator in the Meta AI app. The launch even got Mark Zuckerberg to post on Xβ€”his first post there in three years.

How it works: Users can now generate images based on the likeness of public Facebook and Instagram accounts. Meta gives creators the option to opt out, but all 18+ public profiles are automatically enrolled in the feature.

What creators are saying:

  • β€œThe fact that people have to opt out instead of opt in is what’s unsettling. For public creators, the toothpaste is largely out of the tube, but people should still have meaningful control over how their likeness is used,” Samir Chaudry told us.

  • β€œInstead of doing this, they should figure out how to stop false copyright claims taking down creators' content and their AI allowing it,” iJustine said on X.

  • β€œWhy can't they just ask consent? Scary,” tech creator Aashish Lal said on X.
